Grandmother’s Garden

With mentor, Sallie Lee, this intern group worked at Grandmother’s Garden at Sloss Furnaces.  The members of the group are Carole Bonner, Ann Brasher, Thomas Robinson, Barbara Cusimano and Kathy Sherrer.

Their main purpose was to develop a fun, interactive activity for elementary school aged children that will educate them at Sloss Furnaces, heirloom vegetables/herbs and gardening.  They created a Scavenger Hunt paper with questions that can be given to children and their parents at the garden

Their secondary Activities were preparing the garden for spring vegetable planting, starting seeds, planting vegetables in groups determined by their origin and do routine maintenance in managing the garden.
